Sitting out on the pier I felt the wind blow through me - Caress and hold me so I wouldn\'t fall to a watery depth of broken 2x4\'s and 6 inch nails. The light glows inviting but I sit in companionship. Voices merge and meld creating a chorus of harmony. Stories become one, with exagerration and truth as one. I sit at the crossroads of voices, hearing both but listen none. Neither distinguished from the other; Stories are all the same. Wreckage

Through these walls, I hear your screaming. The doors slam, Feet pound the floor; tremors from your heart. Screaming for so long your voice pitches, cracks in screeching, and you reach rage with flailing arms and fists pounding someone\'s back while out the door they walk. Silence. Then you flail again, raging upon your body. Fists into walls, feet kicking furniture and purple pansies pout. The wreckage ceases.

Drowning texts wrinkle wet, and tabletops are pelted with endless raindrops. Outside, in the rain, the store submits to the storm as lightning lights the shelves and people stroll by unaffected by the rain. Headlights sparkle the stacks; glitters the tables and chairs. A musician hums his harmonica and strums his guitar - he\'s electrified and handsome in the night rainglow. He looks about himself as he sings a song or two; smiles at me and the customers. \"Hey! The Daugerreotype

Iodine and mercury mix vaporous, while images raise from coated copper. Their familiar faces follow the patterns which trace my nose and cheekbone etched in silver-dipped plates as if time reversed. Take a hard look: See the jagged jaw. Notice the long earlobes. Examine clear-cut eyes staring back at you a century ago. Crippled images crumble under touch or breath or sigh. Waiting in irreversible sight; through electricity made visual when tangible is impossible.

I was driving down Highway 10 a few years ago, through Gulfport, Biloxi, and Pass Christian. I noticed a huge water oak that was split, but was still living and still growing. It was split because lightning had struck it. But it was still a living growing tree. It looked to me as if it were two individuals, two people, in love and bound together at the base, the trunk. Yet when something happened to threaten their existence together, they continued to live and grow and love... the limbs entwined with each other at the top, as if they were holding hands, fingers inter-locked.

I saw a suicide attempt in my wrist. The scar was there, purplish white and long down my left wrist. Pale in the luminous light of evening, late night hours bled within my dreams. After sleep I woke dreamy-eyed and went about routine as usual for Tuesdays. My mind cluttered with transcended thoughts from other intellectual beings, I forgot the scar I saw the night before. Love is an accident, a spill on the floor, people treading over it light-footed. Some slipping, falling, stumbling into its stickiness, covered with pink Kool-Aid stains on their lips, on their hands, on their hearts. Trying to steady themselves, holding onto something, anything that will withstand the weight of love. A weight so heavy, and they continue on with life, as if they never fell in love... She sits alone. Other tables full of chatter and flirtation and familiar faces. Two of her table\'s chairs abandoned her for the comraderie of others. She occupies one seat, the lone one remains empty. People glance her way when conversation lulls; She smiles, turning back to her work, to her singularity. Couples pass through, long-time buddies chat. Catching herself she halts thoughts of lonliness, exchanging them decidedly for aloofness in character and independent poet, even if they\'re a facade. Oh, there leaves the last chair.

Cool Artsy People

You know, I think it would be fun if I could just learn how to draw stuff on the computer.  I'd like to skip the whole learning part and get to the part where you're kinda good at it and just learning new techniques so that I improve.  *sigh* I saw my ex once do something in photoshop which outlined a person that was in a photograph.  Then, it was kinda like a coloring book.  All he had to do now was color it in right, with tones and hues and shading in the right places.  Or not.  Get funky.  Maybe someday... in the meantime I'll watch other people do neato stuff.  Maybe eventually I will do one of myself one day.  heh.

yay! New thing to play with!

Allrighty, so this is my first journal entry.  I had heard of this site before, looked around on it too, but never did sign up for it. Then I went to wyldkyss's page and thought, you know this really neat and maybe I can post some poetry too, since they have a section for that.  So, here I am. I would really appreciate any constructive criticism, advice, suggestions...  If you think the poem sucks, tell me exactly why.  But also be sure to tell what you did like about the poem... that makes your criticism all the more helpful.
